For Tom Waits fans in the central Texas area, there's a show coming up that y'all won't wanna miss... It's a cabaret-revue called "Inside A Broken Clock: A Tom Waits Peepshow," and it has sold out all its shows for the past two years. There's a ten-piece band complete with horn section, a handful of gorgeous dancers, some potty-mouthed puppets, and a vaudeville-style script full of stupid (and dirty) jokes. This troupe, known as The Broken Clock Cabaret, presents some truly inventive arrangements and bizarre visions of nearly 20 Waits songs from most of his albums between Swordfishtrombones and Orphans. (TableTop Joe is especially eye-catching.) The show plays Thursday, June 14 & Friday, June 15 at The Parish Room in Austin. For more info, go to http://www.brokenclockcabaret.com.
