This inspired me to get out my guitar, download the tab notation for Waits' "Ol '55", and start working on it.
Have you ever noticed that artists like Waits, Dylan, etc., who have unusual voices can be initially off-putting, but once you get used to their sound, everyone else who covers their music sounds like they're bringing zero "artistry" to the recording?
